Backend development is the technical foundation of every modern website or application. It's where data is processed, logic is implemented, and interfaces are created – in short, everything that happens "behind the scenes." As a backend developer, you ensure that systems run stably, securely, and efficiently.
You will work with SQL (MySQL) and develop databases, learn requirements engineering and SCRUM to implement projects in a structured manner, and program powerful web applications with PHP, AJAX and the Symfony Framework.
With your knowledge of data structures, server logic, and interfaces, you are the link between the frontend, database, and application. In this way, you make a crucial contribution to ensuring that complex digital solutions function smoothly – from small web projects to large enterprise applications.

Course description
Dieser Kurs ist praktisch ausgelegt. Du erhältst Montag bis Donnerstag theoretischen Input und arbeitest dann an den Beispielen, in denen du dein erlerntes Wissen umsetzen kannst. Freitage sind für Wiederholungen, Prüfungen und Q&As bestimmt. Unsere Trainer*innen begleiten dich durch den Tag und stehen dir immer für Rat und Tat zur Seite.
Requirements & Completion
This course requires motivation, personal responsibility, and a willingness to learn. It builds upon the Frontend Developer course. However, prior programming knowledge can be helpful, especially at the beginning. We therefore recommend familiarizing yourself with HTML/CSS and JavaScript. If you need more support, you can also take our introductory course on these topics. We are happy to advise you individually.
Throughout the course, you collect points (quizzes, exams, etc.). After reaching the minimum number of points and completing the final presentation, CodeFactory will award you your Backend Developer certificate.
